Average Amount of Overspending on Task Time

Average amount of overspending on task time is a key performance indicator that shows how much on average you exceeded your schedule time or task duration (e.g. in days). If deviation of planned duration for tasks is calculated by the formula: Deviation of Planned Duration (Duration Variance) = Duration - Baseline Duration, the KPI Average amount of overspending on task time shows the average Duration Variance that has positive format.

This KPI helps to define how successfully your planning was and estimate how much on average you overspent on schedule in time for all active tasks.

If you need to calculate the average amount of overspending on task time, please do the following:

• Create the custom field "Duration Variance":



• If you need to view the average amount of overspending on task time per particular project on Task List, filter your to-do list by task group with project tasks.



• To display the average amount of overspending on task time on Task List set filter by custom field "Duration Variance" 



• Set footer:
  • right click under column "Duration Variance"
  • select "Average"
