Total and Average Paid Time Off (PTO)

Paid Time Off or PTO is non-working time when employees have national holidays, vacations, sick leave, personal or family leave and days off due to other reasons still being paid at a regular rate for that time. In accordance with PTO policy employee should notify supervisor 2 days prior before taking time off (except unexpected cases). Fringe Benefits provided by PTO policy gain existing employees and attract new ones.
The KPI Total and Average Paid Time Off shows total and average duration of scheduled and unscheduled absences of employees. It is used in Human Resource Management.
To display Total and Average Paid Time Off aggregated for all employees or per certain employee please follow the steps below:

  • Create the custom field “Paid Time Off”

Alternatively you can use default fields Start Time and Finish Time to track the duration of employee’s absence

Tip: To track the reason of employee’s absence you can create additional custom field with Type “List”

  • To view the total or average Paid Time Off on Task List, filter your to-do list by the task group

  • To view total or average Paid Time Off per certain employee and/or over some period of time set the appropriate filters on Task List – Filters panel

  • Set footer:

- right click under column “Paid Time Off”
- to see the total Paid Time Off select “Sum”

- to see the average Paid Time Off select “Average”

To show total or average Paid Time Off for all employees on Task Tree please follow the steps below:

  • On Task Tree right click on the task group for which you would like to display total or average Paid Time Off and select “Custom fields options”

  • To see total Paid Time Off, set the following custom fields settings for the custom field “Paid Time Off”

- In “Settings for” select “This task group”
- select “Enable”
- in “Aggregated (for task group)” field select “Sum” from drop-down list and the custom field name “Paid Time Off”

  • To see average Paid Time off, select “Average” and the corresponding custom field name

  • To display Paid Time Off  in days go to:  Tools->Options, in tab “General” (the field “Format Estimated&Actual time)  select “In Days”
