Total and Average Invoicing Processing Costs

    Total and average invoicing processing costs is an accounting key performance indicator that shows a fee charged to cover the cost of generating an invoice. The cost of invoice processing can include the costs of sorting documents, keying in information from paper invoices and archiving the invoice. This KPI is used in accounting management to estimate or compare the cost of processing invoices within a given period of time.

    To view total and average invoicing processing costs please follow the steps below:

  • Create the custom field "Invoicing Processing Costs":
    • Go to: Tools/Custom fields and press "Ins" button
    • In "Title" field enter "Invoicing Processing Costs"
    • In "Code" field enter "cf_invoicing_processing"
    • In "Type" field select "Currency" and click "Ok" button
  • If you need to view the total or average value of this KPI per particular project on Task List, filter your to-do list by task group with project tasks.
  • If you need to view the invoicing processing costs per particular invoice status, e.g. Invoices Outstanding, Invoices Payable you need to create custom workflow with different invoice statuses and filter tasks by status

  • Set footer:
    • right click under column "Invoicing Processing Costs"
    • select "Sum" to display total cost of processing the invoices
  • select "Average" to display average cost of processing the invoices

If you need to view the total or average value of this KPI on Task Tree, please follow the steps below:

  • On Task Tree select root task group and select "Custom fields options"
  • To enable the displaying of the total or average costs of processing the invoices select custom field "Invoicing Processing Costs" and  do the following:
    •  select Enable
    • check "Aggregated" (for task group)
    • to display the total invoicing processing costs select "Sum" and the custom field name "Invoicing Processing Costs"
  • to display the average costs of processing invoices select "Average" and the custom field name "Invoicing Processing Costs"
  • Select task group for which you need to view the total or average invoicing processing costs, right click and select "Custom fields options"
  • Select custom field "Invoicing Processing Costs" and select the option "Enable by parent".
