I didn't see the ability to create recurring tasks in the list of upgrades.

Is that something that will be added as well?

Thanks

Great additions in the new release!

We would like the ability to have tasks automatically roll forward one day at a time if the task is selected to do this. With some of our larger projects that have estimated dates in the tasks, we spend a lot of time just updating dates that were not accurately estimated.

If we had the ability to select questionable tasks to roll forward automatically, it would be helpful.

When I create a task there would be a check box "Roll-forward Y/N" and allow a selection of number of day to roll a task forward. Given this, at the date the task was due to be completed it would reset the due date of the task by the number of day increments identified in the selection noted above.

For example, I have a task that I expect will be completed by 02/17/07. When the 17th hits, I didn't complete the task. Having set the task to roll forward in three day increments, the task will automatically reset the date to 02/20/07.

As things are, our people are spending time reseting dates on tasks that could otherwise roll forward.

In managers are reviewing peoples tasks grouped by date and following up on things that have missed their due date that are really just tasks that did not have hard due dates and need to be rescheduled by the user.

There does not appear to be a way to set global filters for users.

We've identified stadardized views that we want all users to have and there will be more to come as learn more about how we want to use the product.

It would be helpful to be able to define the filtering at a global level and have it show on the screens of each user when they log in.

Certain managers want their people to view things by due date others want certain key projects to have their own filter that the accountable users can quickly view all the key tasks.

The problem we have now is that our users are incorrectly setting up filters and missing information in their view. Both this and the additional time required to create them for each user could eliminated by having a global setting that an administrator could apply to all users.

It would be great if the Icon for VIP in the Taskbar of Windows could blink when new notifications come in.

When there are a lot of changes for managers, the notification window comes up, but it only stays there for a few minutes.

If they forget to check during the day, they miss notifications that impact deadlines

Having the icon blink would insure that they see that a notification has come in.

Thanks,
Kurt

It would be most helpful to be able to have a toggle button that would allow Comments to be displayed for each task the same way that Notes are able to be displayed.

We have need to print the Comment history in reports we deliver to clients, but are now only using the Notes as the means to accomplish this, which is more time consuming due to the need to identify who wrote the note and add date information, etc. that are standard as a part of the Comments functionality.

Is it possible for you to make the login for this system be able to be based on the Active Directory user setttings for username and password control?

The reason I ask is that we have a lot people from consulting projects that are being coming on and dropping off as users for VIP.

If I could have a user log into their system and be validated by the Windows Active Directory security, using VIP would not require me to setup a new username and password for the users (who already have so many passwords they are freaking).

How possible is that? Unless I'm totally missing something, it seems like this would be a major benefit for any company rolling out the system to a large number of Windows users.

Love the product!

Hi,

I was wondering when the next release is slated to come out.

The reason I ask is that we are desparate for the following features:

1) Palm/Handheld syncage
2) Global filters
3) Drag & Drop from Outlook

Your product has now become an integral part of our internal processes and we appreciate the opportunity to provide feedback to you.

Thanks,

Topic: «Inaccurate date filtering, Can't save data range filter "Apply to Due Date Only"» on forum: Troubleshooting (VIP Task Manager)

If I try to save a filter that will have the date range be for "This Week" and "Apply to Due Date Only" it will not save.

If I exit the program with that filter defined, it will reload correctly; however, if I select the saved filter, it returns not only the wrong Due Date vs. Range filter but also includes the tasks for more than one week.

Is it possible that there is something wrong with my database? What might the problem be?

Thanks for your help.

Topic: «Filtering for Watch List Items» on forum: Troubleshooting (VIP Task Manager)

Hi,

We are activley useing the Watch List capabilities in the system; however, I am having trouble figuring out how to make it so that I can see all of the tasks that I am on the watch list for.

We have people in our organization who assign approved tasks to people that I am on the watch list for. I am ultimately responsidlbe for making sure the task is completed (that's why I'm given the watch by the person who assigned it).

I wanted to see if I can filter to see those task that I'm on the Watch List for to be able to print it each week and follow up as need.

Right now I only know I'm on the Watch List by the notification, but I can't seem to get a filter for it.

Thanks,
Kurt
