Views: 399Topic:: «View persmissions of resources when creating tasks» on forum: Feature Requests (VIP Task Manager)

Below our task tree root we created 3 groups for 3 subdepartments. Each group has a corresponding role to give permissions. Each employee is member of one role and persmissions are set so only one role has acces to a subdepartment. Only general managers are member of all roles so they have access to all subdepartments.

The problem we have is that employees can assign resources from other departments (roles) to a task. These resouces however won't have access to the task. As a result the user who creates a task thinks the tasks will be handled by the resource he assigned, but the resource doesn't know there's a new task.

It would be nice if the resource window of a task would show which permissions the resources have to the task, for example by showing the permissions in a extra column or using a different text color for the resource name. This whay a user who creates a tasks will know he assigns a resource that has no access or only read-only access to the task. If necessary he can notify the resource, for example by sending the task by e-mail.

Thanks,

Geert

Thank you for the suggestion.

I added the following request that would probably work for you:

If the task is assigned to a resource who has no permission to see it, the program will popup notification about it and user will be able to act accordingly (for example send the task by email)

That's a good solution. Thanks for your feedback.
