Hi.

I was wondering if it is possible to use VIP Task Manager on mobile phones with windows. Would really help.

We also got a problem with custom fields. Although at filters i can chose custom fields, when i add a new task it doesn`t appear. For example, i made a custom field like this:
Workers, code cf_0001, Type List, Filtering, Grouping and active checked out.
In custom fields i added some names and chosed a default worker name.

When i add a new task, at custom fields nothing appears. I would really need some help on this one cause i`m stuck. i suppose this is a bug...but i hope is not Smile

Actually it is not a bug, it is a feature Smile

Most likely custom field doesn't appear because of it is not assigned.
In new version the way of assigning a custom field has changed. Now you need to set each newly created custom field for a Task Group (with possibility for their subgroups and tasks to inherit this custom field so you can set it once for a high level task group). You can read more here:

Thank you for suggestion to develop VIP Task Manager on mobile phones. Of course we agree that it would be useful, but we hardly will be able to do this in the near future.

I agree. It would be really helpful to have a mobile application for either Windows Mobile or Palm OS. This would permit superviors to meet with staff members and review tasks without having to meet in front of a computer. It would also permit timely updates to task status.

I am evaluating your product. It's very impressive - you have put a lot of thought and work into this app. Mobile synchronization is a big deal for me too.

Creating a conduit for mobile devices would be a horrendous task to say the least. Perhaps a solution that would satisfy a large percentage of the users would be to have some automation that works with outlook. If you could sync tasks with outlook (use hidden fields to store the unique id from Task Manager) then we can sync our mobile devices with outlook. Dmitry Streblechenko has some C++ libraries (for VB too) that make outlook automation very simple - and inexpensive. http://www.dimastr.com/redemption/
Thanks

Daniel,

I will make sure, product manager and developers are aware of this solution and will consider it when planning the future updates. Thank you very much for the suggestion.
