When we enter a recurring task, in this case a weekly one, we can see all the occurrences for every week in the calendar, but only the first occurrence in de task list. Once we set the one in the task list to 'completed', the new one for next week appears.
This way we have to look at both views to make sure that when scheduling tasks, we are not creating double bookings.
Yes, the display of recurring tasks on Calendar view and Task List/Tree is different. Just imagine how many tasks will be on your list if you set a recurring task to repeat every day and never end.
