Thanks for the request.
At the moment VPXML allows to import tasks only from our application VIP Team To Do List (that is why there is no documentation yet). Of course we plan to extend import feature and allow our users to import their tasks from other applications as it is critical for their migration to ours. Thanks again for focusing our attention on the features that are really important.
We are presently evaluating Task Manager. One issue we have is that once the laptop is off the network, we do not have access to the database (obviously). Is this where Team To Do comes in? Can remote users sync with the Task Manager database? How would this be accomplished?
Yes, once the computer is off the network, it has no access to the database. And VIP Team To Do List is not meant for sync. We are aware that some of our users need this so when we finish work on the next major update we will think about solution for off the network sync.
Thanks for the reply. While you are thinking of offline access, please also consider Palm sync as well. We would likely give a relatively unimportant body part for a Palm app that allows a user to keep track of his/her to do list while in the field (think Treo 650/700).
Thanks for request. Sync with Palm is also in our mind. As soon as we add critical features, like Custom Fields, we will start thinking about sync with mobile devices.
We too would like to be able to import tasks also. Suggest the imported tasks go to a specific "unassigned" folder where they can receive assignments. That way you can implement incremental patches with increased import ability without screwing up the database...(IMHO)
