it seems that tasks only show up in the calendar when there is a start/end date/time set. Since i want to use the tool just for task management (not planning, since they all go to external resources) it would be nice to have task with a set "due date" showing up in the calendar, too.
Calendar View can display only tasks which have two "time points" in other words Calendar View will show only task which has Start and Finish Date.Task which has only "Due date" will not be displayed because of one 'time point".
One of the options when you select a start and finish dates is to select "all day" which puts the task on the calendar at the top of that particular day. For tasks that are assigned due dates rather than start and finish dates, why can't you just make the task an "all day" task on the day of the due date? That way ALL tasks could show up on the calendar.
Another option would be to allow us to drag and drop a task with a due date onto a date on the calendar, which would then give the task start/finish time points. The problem with the current set up is that often the person assigning the task is not in a position to decide when the assigned person will work on the task, so they cannot input start/finish times. There needs to be an easier way for someone who is assigned a task to get it onto their calendar.
