Step 2: Organizing of IT-company staff

Resource List

IT-companies require various IT-engineers and technical specialists: Hardware Engineers and Adjusters, System Administrators, Programmers, Single-purpose software specialists, etc.

Besides IT-company requires qualified office managers with technical skills that can properly work with clients, comprehensively expound purposes of IT-solution, modify it according to client's requirements and negotiate about the price. The staff should be registered in Resource List of VIP Task Manager. This is a list of users' accounts where login, password and some of permission rights can be set. Also administrator can set users' personal data: E-mail, Address and Phone number.

Departments

As a rule, IT-company management arranges employees according to their specialization to departments with different purposes. The structure can vary because of company scale and mission, but small and medium IT-companies may have such departments as customer service department,

Developers department where programmers work, Field department which implementators and system administrators belong to, Hardware engineering department that designs hardware solutions, LAN's and so on, Software service department which consist of software specialists and trainers. Usually, when performing IT-solution, specialists from all departments should be involved into one project and be able to collaborate in order to achieve common goals. VIP Task Manager allows referring each employee to appropriate department with a help of Resources List. This will facilitate task grouping and allows managers to see which tasks are being executed within each of departments and what employees and from what departments are involved into certain project.

Permissions / Roles

Any team collaboration software that allows the same database access requires not only information sharing, but access restrictions as well. VIP Task Manager allows managing access permission for each user regarding each task or task group.

With a help of flexible Permission system Administrator can set rights to Create, View, Edit and Delete tasks and task groups and create roles. For example persons from field department can be restricted to edit internal tasks of developers department and conversely or department head can restrict employees to view his/her tasks.
