VIP Task Manager Professional edition allows the management of engineering company to track projects and tasks quickly and simply. The application has automatic notification system which sends out alerts to assigned resources once a task was created or changed. The following solution defines several ways which allow to track task performance through the VIP Task Manager:

1. Planned and actual dates
Task planned dates (due dates, start & finish dates) are defined by the project plan. Any changes to the planned dates must be made in the project database by project manager as only he is responsible for that. When planning project, the manager of engineering company can divide project into several time checkpoints in order to track the project progress by using due dates, actual and estimated (planned) dates.

In Task List view the manager can group tasks by "Due date" column and save the column layout. For example, the stage "1. Preliminary planning and assessment" of "Horizontal Drilling Project" can be tracked by "Due date" column. The columns "Start date" and "Finish date" show the project progress and defines weather tasks on the project are procrastinated. VIP Task Manager automatically compares task planned Due date with actual Finish date and highlights the task with orange color if it is overdue. |
| 2. Task status and progress Once an employee of engineering company has completed all works associated with a task, he can mark it as "Completed". Marking a task as "Completed" sets the progress percent to 100 and the actual "Date completed" field is set to current date. The manager of engineering company can use Filter panel to hide all completed tasks from Task List view and be concentrated on un-completed tasks. By grouping tasks by "Status" field, the manger gets a layout which displays all uncompleted tasks. The field "Complete" show progress in percent. |

3. Filters
Filters enable to track task progress in a more comfortable way. Using filters is a unique advantage in VIP Task Manager - employees of engineering company will be able to view the list of tasks in the way they find comfortable. Filter panel will show only those tasks that meet manager's conditions among all tasks.

Manager can set up filters to display tasks related only to Horizontal Drilling Project or to a certain department and resource. The "Filter" feature is the most frequently used for extensive tracking tasks and projects. Manager can apply filters to get precise task data according to specified criteria. With the filtering feature, he can get a clear task overview regarding any attribute. The main purpose of Filter panel is to give managers a simple tool for tracking and viewing tasks and projects. |
