Step 3. Setting construction company workflow

Each construction company has a set order in which it works with clients, projects, documents, etc. If the workflow makes the company successful there is no need to correspond to construction industry standards and team collaboration should be organized according to this order. What's needed is a flexible system which allows to built business process according to unique peculiarity of your construction company, in other words, you should be able to organize task management for your enterprise in style that is most corresponding to the reality. You are allowed to group tasks by departments, clients, project stages, etc., also it is possible to create mixed variant.

For example, client and project oriented variant in VIP Task Manager Pro may look like this:

This variant is convenient for combining of such features as storing information on a client (name, phone, address, e-mail, etc.), description of a clients requirements, effective team collaboration in the context of one project, possibility to track all the stages of the project, their costs and time.

Project Templates

In order to save time, you are able to automate business processes (typical working processes that consist of certain standard steps). For example, building company has several clients that ordered typical houses for their families - process of work at these projects is similar (the most part of tasks, task groups and assignments are the same), but in each individual case workflow can be modified, so after creating of the first project it is possible to duplicate it, make appropriate changes and use it as a template for the second project

Task statuses

All tasks in VIP Task Manager are supposed to go through sequence of statuses (from the moment of assignation to employee till moment of accomplishment). There is standard set of statuses which includes 7 statuses and is enough to be aware if task is " In progress " or " Complete ", etc., however it is possible to create custom statuses, according to clients needs.

Perhaps it will be useful for construction company to create special workflow for design department - for example an engineer has drawn drafts of a building (he has attached files with drafts directly to his task) and it should be approved by senior designer, so it is rational to add special status Approved. After senior designer has approved these drafts, design department head will be aware that drafts are 100% ready.
