Integrated Growth Strategy

Each company faces challenge of selection between different marketing strategies of growth. There is a bunch of strategies called integrated growth strategies. The integrated growth strategy is used when organization has a strong business, but it cannot use strategy of the concentrated growth, however at the same time the integrated growth does not contradict its long-term objectives. There are following types of integrated growth strategies:

  • The strategy of backward vertical integration is directed to growth of the enterprise owing to acquisition or gaining of control over suppliers, and also owing to creation of the affiliated structures which are assigned to supply main business. Realization of backward vertical integration strategy can yield favorable results owing to reduction of dependence on suppliers and prices instability of necessary for business accessories and materials.
  • Forward vertical integration strategy means growth of firm owing to acquisition or strengthening of influence on end users, it is favorable strategy if spectrum of intermediary services is very wide or when the firm cannot find intermediaries with sufficient level of work quality.
  • Diversified growth strategies are used if the organization cannot develop further within the current market with current product, within the scopes of certain branch.
